Vitamin C is a water-soluble essential nutrient that must be obtained from the diet or from supplements because the body cannot manufacture it. ANTIOXIDANT

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant which helps protect cells from damage by free radicals. Free radical damage contributes to ageing and age-related diseases including cancer and cardiovascular disorders. It also prevents other vitamins, including A and E, from being oxidised.

IMMUNE HEALTH

Vitamin C plays an important role in the body’s immune system. It promotes resistance to infection. It is found to provide some protection against common cold and shorten its duration. Large amounts of vitamin C stimulate the production of lymphocytes (white blood cells) which are an important part of the immune system.
